Recommended Action
Low probability. D-dimer testing recommended. If negative, DVT can be ruled out.
Three-Tier Model
- β€0: Low risk (5% probability)
- 1-2: Moderate risk (17% probability)
- β₯3: High risk (53% probability)
Two-Tier Model
- < 2: DVT unlikely (6%) - D-dimer testing
- β₯2: DVT likely (28%) - Ultrasound
Clinical Note
Calf swelling should be measured 10 cm below tibial tuberosity. Consider proximal ultrasound for moderate/high risk patients.
