Zodiac Sign Calculator

A zodiac sign calculator determines which of the twelve Western astrological sun signs corresponds to a given birth date, based on the position of the Sun along the ecliptic at the time of birth. The Western zodiac is divided into twelve equal 30° sectors of the ecliptic, each named after a constellation, with the Sun entering each sector at approximately the same dates each year.

The twelve zodiac signs — Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces — are rooted in ancient Babylonian and Greek astronomy and astrology. The twelve zodiac signs are grouped into four elements and three modalities, creating a 4×3 matrix of twelve distinct combinations:
