What Is Daylight Saving Time?
Daylight Saving Time (DST), often called "summer time" in European countries, is the practice of advancing clocks by one hour during the warmer months so that evening daylight lasts an hour longer relative to the clock. In spring, clocks "spring forward" by one hour (losing an hour of sleep), and in autumn they "fall back" one hour (gaining an hour of sleep).
